Actually, you are not telling the whole truth which is typical of liberal media. The Teleprompter speed controller/oprator was not setting the pace correctly, causing the lines to be ahead of where they should have been. Teleprompters are great when set up correclty, but if there is a problem, they are a disaster. Ask any reporter that is reading a teleprompter during a news cast. You are giving yourself too much credit for not knowing what you are doing. As kevin stated, turn off the sound and try reading it. It was either not set properly, or the controller was rigging the line by line speed. She did what she needed to do and that was give the speech from her own papers.

It is a shame that your own political bias interferes with your judgement and common sense.

I think you're taking a little too much credit for yourself there. The teleprompter does indeed seem to be not working properly. Turn off the sound and try reading it out loud yourself and it is certainly rushed. After a few minutes of that I would be stammering and stuttering and flopping the speech.

I would say broken, or at least ineptly controlled, is a very reasonable description.

The teleprompter indeed worked correctly, the problem is that the operator didn't pause during long ovations/applause, thus the text was way out in front of where it SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

I remembered that Palin faltered a couple of times late in her speech, obviously reading the teleprompter.

I thought these were very minor flaws in an otherwise spectacular success of a speech, but these flaws made it clear to me that the teleprompter failure was at least exaggerated if not completely false.

Actually, I watched the Fox discussion of this, or at least one of them, and the aide I believe you refer to pointed out that the teleprompter was only down for a few minutes before she spoke and was back in operation as she began. The aide also noted that Palin got her hard copy of the speech only as she came to the podium, though undoubtedly she'd been through it many times.
